DESCRIPTION

BITUSEAL 1500 CLX is a self-adhesive. extremely flexible waterproofing membrane. The thick elastic self-adhesive rubber / bitumen compound is backed with a strong cross laminated, high density, multi-layer polyethylene film with outstanding physical properties making Bituseal 1500 CLX as one of the most rugged self-adhesive membranes. The advanced carrier film is manufactured by cross laminating and chemically bonding the layer together.

BITUSEAL 1500 CLX is ideal for damp proofing, foundations, bridges, viaducts and other sub-grade applications.

When used with Bitumat water-stops cast into the concrete shell, it will provide a high performance, chemically resistant and fully continuous waterproofing / tanking system for basement and sub-structures.

OUTSTANDING FEATURES

Extremely flexible with typically over 1200% coating elongation and is capable of bridging shrinkage cracks in the concrete. It's high elongation and self-healing properties enable it to accommodate minor settlement also. The cross lamination provides dimensional stability, high tear strength, puncture and impact resistance to the membrane. Self-adhesive Has excellent resistance to aggressive soils and contaminated ground water. Ease of application.

APPLICATION

Measures should be taken to ensure that all surfaces are free from ice. frost or condensation. Installation is recommended between +4°C and +400C.

All surfaces to receive Bituseal 1500 CLX shall be smooth, regular, dry, free from nails and primed with one coat of Bitumat Primer applied by brush or roller at a rate of 10-12 sq m/liter depending on the porosity o the surface, and allowed to dry completely before the application of the Bitumat Bituseal 1500 CLX.

Bitumat Bituseal 1500 CLX shall be laid by peeling back the protective release paper and applying the adhesive face onto the prepared surface. The material should be brushed on to the surface to ensure good initial bond.

Adjacent rolls are aligned and overlapped 50mm minimum at side and ends and well rolled with a firm pressure using a pressure Roller to ensure complete adhesion and continuity between the layers. In cool conditions. the application of the gentle heat between layers by hot air gun or soft flame will assist promoting adhesion at lap joints. Care to be taken that no wrinkles are formed.
